The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual. Pastor Gary Vet:
Gary grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio where, in 1980, he surrendered his life to Christ. Just before heading to a university to pursue pre-law, he attended a leadership conference for teens at a Bible college where he felt drawn to serve Christ in a full-time capacity. Gary completed his Doctorate of Ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Gary and his wife, Martha, have two sons, Ryan and Tyler.

Dr. Norman Peart is the founding pastor of Grace Bible Fellowship in Cary, North Carolina. He has received a Bachelor in Religious Studies from Clarks Summit University, Pennsylvania and two Masters Degrees (Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology) from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He later received a Ph.D. in the areas of Sociology/Urban Studies from Michigan State University. He is a former researcher and Adjunct Instructor in Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has also been an Adjunct Instructor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for 8 years starting in 1996—2000, then resuming this role from 2010 to the present. He is also a Chaplain with the Cary Police Department since July 2010. He has published a book entitled Separate No More (Light Messages 2010) which seeks to give historical, theological, and practical insights for understanding and developing racial reconciliation in one’s personal life and church. The book has been reviewed by Christianity Today and was a featured offer at Promise Keeper events. Dr. Peart and his wife Carolyn have been married 26 years and have four sons.
